Are we expected to believe this?

Posted: Sep 28, 2012

Is Stephanie Cutter for real? She says Obama's administration will be creating 12 million jobs over the next 4 years (same as Romney's promise) on the course that we are on. Responding when asked if that is a promise, she says:

"That’s not a promise, that’s reality. That is what is forecasted by economists that would be created over the next four years on the path that we’re on. Now, we can do better than that, but…"

What hat does President Obama intend to pull these jobs out of and where has he been hiding said hat?

yes, they do expect you to believe that. - LM

Yes, and that's why Romney is quoting 12 million jobs too. - It is the experts' best estimation. NM

Well, where is the hat? Where are these jobs coming from? Where will they be located? What specifically is creating them in other words?

Googling to learn the various factors involved in - job creation is actually happiness-making,

:). Turns out, it's not magic. We know lots of guaranteed ways to do it. It's like building a house, just a lot more complicated and takes a lot more time. But--when people get off their butts and do it, it gets done.

I guess, look at the record.... - SK1

I haven't done the homework, but since Obama is planning to use the same path, it would be reasonable to look at how many jobs that path has created in the last four years, I think.

The only thing we have to gauge Romney on is his record in Massachusetts, and while that's SOMETHING, I'm not sure it can be assumed that it would transplant to a nationwide record.

I haven't heard any explanations in the portions of Obama's speeches I can find. I don't live in a battleground state so I am sure I don't hear as much for the candidates as some do. If he can give believable specifics for this, it could go a long way. I do think Romney presents a plan to achieve the jobs (I don't want a lecture on why or why not that will work, I can make my own conclusion). I would like to hear more or know where I can find more information on the President's plan to create this many jobs over the next 4 years. Not being sarcastic, I really want to know about this.

The CBO has been saying for months that...sm - VTMT

projected job growth over the next four years is 12 million jobs even if we do absolutely nothing.

Do nothing? Apparently the Republican Congress is brilliant. - NOT

Apparently the changes Obama made the first couple of years of term have had some lasting impact. Too bad the Pubs could not get on board.

This administration has a number of bills, including a jobs bill, ready for congress to pass but the Republicans in congress refuse to pass anything because they want president Obama to fail. They have consistently used the filibuster (minority rule, basically) to block everything. Don't forget their number one priority was not jobs; it was to ensure that Obama was a one term president. They don't put America first; they put their egos and their super pac contributors first.

Bravo! Great post! - sm

This country would be in much better shape now if Obama could have had more support from the Cons.

But, as you said, keeping Obama a one-term president is ALL they care about.

It restores some of my faith in humankind when I read posts like yours, just telling the truth as we've personally seen it play out by the Cons.

The Republicans have passed jobs bills. They are lying in the Senate where that nut, Harry Reid, REFUSES TO BRING THEM UP FOR DEBATE, LET ALONE VOTE.

This has been going on since 2010 and it's ridiculous. Open your freaking eyes and see what's been happening. You are only listening to what the Dems are saying and it's a well known fact that they lie big time. Look at the lies put out by them just in the past couple weeks.

It's probably safe to assume that - vf

you're only listening to what the pubs are saying. The bottom line is the pubs and tea party extremists have refused to compromise on anything and are only interested in giving tax breaks to millionaires like you. Even though pubs did not win the election in 2008, they have demanded that it's their way or the highway; and then they proceeded to just stand in the way. They will pay the price for all that obstruction this election because people are finally waking up to their treachery. They know it too; that's why they're trying to steal the election by suppressing votes.

Misinformed again. The only jobs bill Bozo has is (sm) - me

more stimulus money to create more invisible jobs at $300,000 apiece. The House on the other hand has a jobs bill which stupid Hairy Reid refuses to bring up for a vote.

What kind of jobs? - Minimum wage?

Then we will see more and more pay cuts while other countries are getting better pay?

Fans Go WILD After Trump Does THIS… But Then He Was Met With Something He Never Expected This is one of the biggest Trump rallies that took place in Kissimmee, Florida. This is the same town where Hillary Clinton recently invited the father of the Orlando shooter to the rally. Not many people showed up for Hillary. Of course, Trump sold out the arena that can hold 8,000 people. The polls may be saying one thing, but this turnout says quite another. Scroll down past half page to see ...

High Cost Of Low Politics: Expected EconomicOct 20, 2013
Excerpt of statement from the NY Times Editorial Board, link to entire statement below. "Early this year, it was widely acknowledged that the economy was in for a tough patch. The “fiscal cliff” showdown at the end of 2012 had led to higher payroll taxes and had locked in earlier cuts to jobless benefits, while “the sequester” — deep and arbitrary federal spending cuts enacted to end a previous debt standoff — kicked in on March 1. The only consolation at the ...
