Meningitis

Can you have meningitis without a fever. I am having severe cranial nerve deficits, swelling of face and severe spinal pain and peeling of skin. Thanks.

[ In Reply To ..]Had meningitis in my 20s. Very high fever, severe nausea and vomiting, headache, also could not bend my neck. Try bending your neck. I think it is unlikely that you have meningitis. It is debilitating. Had a cousing die with it so we were all afraid when I came down with it. Some of your symptoms just don't sound like you have it but then go see a doctor!!! If you do have it, you will just get worse.

[ In Reply To ..]Thanks so much for the info. I don't have a fever, but 24/7 occipital headache, numb head and something is compressing my facial nerves with hemifacial spasm. Did you have spine pain?

[ In Reply To ..]Where do you live? Has there been an outbreak of meningitis in your area? Do you have children? I think with meningitis, you would have a fever whether viral or bacteria. I am not familiar with peeling of the skin related to meningitis. I would strongly urge you to go see your doctor. This could be a multitude of things and you should really be examined by your PCP to make sure it is nothing serious. Hope you are okay soon.
