Doc thought my upper tear duct was a bit tight and opened it further during my office visit, - Carol

[ In Reply To ..]...from dryness due to my contact lenses. However, my right eye never waters, so all the doc can figure is that the left is more sensitive to the lens for some unknown reason. He suggested I have the tear duct removed if the watering continued to bother me. But, I was not interested in doing that and thought it was a ridiculous suggestion. Then I'd be a prisoner to using 'artificial tears' for the rest of my life and wouldn't be able to cry from that eye either! I'd just as soon deal with the watering, which comes and goes and doesn't really interfere with my life, except to ruin my eye makeup occasionally.

[ In Reply To ..]waters. I have had dry eyes for many, many years and use eye drops all the time. Been wearing contacts too, for a long time. Now use the one day disposable lenses to avoid contamination. I wear my glasses for work. I switched this year to Acuvue Moist, which helped keep my eyes moist. I hope I am not allergic to them and that is what is causing my left eye to water too much. I just had a though checkup and everything was fine. I also have punctal plugs in both eyes on the bottom. Simple procedure, had it at least 15 years ago. I may have to ask my eye doctor if it should be reopened (if possible). He never mentioned it at my last appointment. Will see him again in a month. I have also been under a lot of stress and working a lot with poor sleep. That may be the culprit.
