whole licorice root

Is anyone familiar with using this for something other than tea.  I bought a bag from nuts.com, and their website indicates people in Spain chew it as a breath freshener.  Other internet search says people chew on it to help stop smoking (not my problem).  I just want to try not eating for the last 5 hours of my shift.

Anyway, it has this bark on the outside.  I'm not sure if I should take that off and then chew on the inside.  I've been sucking on a stick for a while.  I get a little taste from it, but at least I haven't run into the kitchen to get something to eat yet.

Any recommendations.

Ask the folks at nuts.com... - surely they know!

I might not nibble on bark due to the potential for toxins, but who knows? Looking at the picture online, I can't imagine how you would get the bark off ...

I would ask nuts.com. They must try their own products.

Let us know, would you? I'd like to try some myself!

Go to herbwisdom.com, there's a long list of - MT59

Hubby came home and told me about Willke having a connection with Nazi German experiments, so I found this: Mecklenburg's article was one of 19 in a book called "Abortion and Social Justice," published a year before the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision. In supporting his claim about trauma and ovulation, Mecklenburg cited experiments conducted in Nazi death camps. The Nazis tested this hypothesis "by selecting women who were about to ovulate ...

The Ugly Root Of Socialism: EnvySep 15, 2015
Envy is the emotion that arises in the human heart "when a person lacks another's superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it (for themselves) or wishes that the other lacked it". This whole "income inequality" thing, at bottom, is about nothing more or less than envy.  Being immediately recognized even to ourselves as an ugly thing, it's necessary to justify it, just as we have to justify to ourselves other forms of ugliness such as anger, pride or lust. ...
