Repairing a ceramic mug

Posted: Jun 11, 2015

Is there a way of repairing a chip on the edge of a ceramic mug? It's my favorite one; a beautiful Westie mug I got at a dog show some years ago. The Westie's head is 3-dimensional and just adorable. The chip is on the side of the rim of the mug and really does not interfere with drinking from it, but just love it and want to repair it if I can. Thanks so much!

I tried a google search and got many results listed - wonder if any would help you? SM

search was with this phrase "how to repair chipped ceramic mug"

Also numerous youtube videos on this topic. - sm

Use "repair chipped mug" or similar phrase in the search box. What method applies will depend in large part on whether you still have the chipped piece or just need to smooth/repair the remaining surface.

Thanks for replies - OP

I appreciate the advice. I will do some checking. The mug I have is so nice and shiny, very nicely made, and the cutest authentic Westie head and expression that I have seen. The chip on the bottom of the rim of the mug is small, and the mub is white. It should be relatively easy to at least make it better. Again, my thanks for the replies to my post!

Hello, I find myself with a now 15-year-old car that I purchased brand new 15 years ago. I know it has been taken care of, because I'm the only owner. It seems like everything wants to break down at once, but I'm convinced that if I repair as I can, that I can keep it running for another 160,000 miles. I looked at a shiny brand-new car that would set me back about $200 a month for the next six years.  I then looked at my oldie but goodie sitting in the driveway looking like it k ...

Repairing The Job Machine (More Jobs Under Obama Than Bush?)May 15, 2010
More jobs might be created this year than during George W. Bush's presidency. by Ronald Brownstein Saturday, May 15, 2010     If the economy produces jobs over the next eight months at the same pace as it did over the past four months, the nation will have created more jobs in 2010 alone than it did over the entire eight years of George W. Bush's presidency. That comparison comes with many footnotes and asterisks. But it shows how the economic debate between the parties ...
