I'm fine now, just had a very sore neck for a couple of days and some bruises. I got a head CT and a c-spine x-ray, both were negative.
I was headed upstairs to my office, near the top, when my knee just gave out on me. When I realized I was going to fall, I rolled up into a ball and shifted left toward the nearer wall. Then i ended up doing a series of backward rolls or tumbles down the steps. I think this is what saved me from breaking my neck or back, which is what I thought would happen if i just fell straight backward down 12 steps.
What amazed me is how everything went into "slo-mo" and I was actually able to think about what was happening and develop a plan. I still had time to flash on Joan Crawford in "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" lol.
Just wondering if others have had similar experiences?
