There is also a vibrant underground economy like electricians and dry wall finishers working side jobs.

People will just stop putting their money into banks.

When I was a kid (late 50s/early 60s) I had a newspaper route. One old lady on my route would pay me cash from a bunch of bills she kept under her kitchen tablecloth. I assume she developed that habit after the crash in the 20s.

Electricians and drywall finishers (many are illegals) will be investing in home safes.
