A lot of people didn't have to be told - Just my opinion Posted: Sep 10th, 2021 - 8:38 am In Reply to: I am sick and tired of the unvaccinated being called - anti-vax.We’re not telling ANYONE not
We did it out of a sense of personal responsibility because we are not only concerned with our own health as well as keeping those around us safe. My personal experience is that my coworkers who contracted Covid were the ones who refused vaccination; one of them came to work when she had symptoms and exposed a number of people, 2 of whom got sick, because she thought it was just a cold and couldn't possibly be Covid. They had to do something, and now people have until October 8 to become fully vaccinated or lose their jobs. We have the same mandate for flu shots, so it's really nothing different. I assume you received all of your childhood vaccinations and boosters and probably didn't question it, so I really don't understand the pushback on this. My opinion is that we needed to start sooner and that children needed to be included. Half the hospitalizations in our local hospital with a bed capacity of about 200 are Covid cases. That's small, but it's a drop in the bucket compared to other places. If people had just gotten the shot, we wouldn't need mandates now. I know there are exceptions (religious, health) but that's probably a very small percentage of people who could get vaccinated. If I had to choose between keeping my job or getting a shot, the choice would be clear.
