The white cop sees all black young men as animals. Suppose she doesn't see a human life. She doesn't see someone like her own nephew.

The decision as to her actions, which weapon, what the outcome might be are not near as important as if he were white, like she.

Duante Wright would not be dead if he were white. They would have taken the chance on a weapon showing up and fought with him, subdued him and arrested him. Unknown if they would have offered drive through food on way to the station.
