like assault on law enforcement officers, arson, and other violent crimes.

Many have been dropped with prejudice, meaning they can’t be re-litigated in the future. The outgoing U.S. attorney for Oregon, Billy Williams, said in an interview that nobody in their right mind thinks this is OK.

Merrick Garland says it’s "okay" because they were committing crimes "outside of federal business hours."
