You can't impeach a past president. He's now a private citizen. If they do this, they are opening a big can of worms for all past presidents. Congress cannot pass a bill of attainder.

Republicans are already saying they will not vote to convict, outside of the usual gang of idiots, like Romney and Murkowski.
