Well, the whispers are now a loud voice about Fox - Truthhurts

It should make every radical progressive and liberal jumping for joy. Sad.

What’s in a name? For the Murdochs, the answer may be, “Quite a lot.” Specifically, the Murdoch name has come to be associated largely with right-leaning politics, as Rupert Murdoch — the billionaire media mogul who owns Fox News and multiple other influential outlets spanning three continents — has built a family dynasty based largely on conservatism.

But Kathryn and James Murdoch, daughter-in-law and youngest son of the news tycoon, are forging a new reputation for the Murdoch name, contributing heavily this cycle to progressive political groups, including super PACs supporting President-elect Joe Biden. James Murdoch resigned from his position at Fox last July over “disagreements over certain editorial content.” According to NPR, he released a letter to the board “signaling a broad philosophical clash with his father and older brother,” though he did not elaborate further.

Rupert Murdoch has donated extensively to Republican candidates including Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), and his Fox News Channel stood out as one of President Donald Trump’s largest sources of support throughout his presidency.

But both James and Kathryn Murdoch have donated cash to various left-leaning and anti-Trump super PACs. This cycle, James and Kathryn Murdoch contributed a total of roughly $12.2 million to federal committees, ranking 25th on OpenSecrets’ list of top donors. She contributed $500,000 to Pacronym, focused on backing Democrats in closely-watched races. She also donated $540,000 to the Democratic Future Forward PAC, and $300,000 to Unite the Country, a pro-Biden PAC.

James Murdoch gave $300,000 to Unite the Country, and donated $500,000 to national progressive super PAC Change Now, which spent big on television ads and targeted vulnerable House Republicans.

Kathryn Murdoch is co-chair of Unite America, a nonpartisan federal super PAC working to combat divisiveness in the political process and “foster a more representative and functional government.” Since last year, she donated around $8.1 million to the PAC.
