There's an age-old misconception about the role - of lawyers and law firms... Posted: Oct 22nd, 2020 - 5:44 am In Reply to: Kamala Harris’s Husband’s Firm Reps Chinese Communist Party - Party-Owned Corporates, Employs Ex-CCP
and I know this personally because my dad was a lawyer. It is that everyone has a right to legal representation. Lawyers and firms represent good guys, bad guys, shady guys, etc., etc. They are there to make sure their clients legal rights are preserved. For the most part, lawyers and legal firms are not "in bed with" their clients, and I'm not saying this doesn't happen sometimes. They are there to perform a service. Being a law firm that represents a Communist Chinese business does not mean that that firm is a Communist Party sympathizer. They are there to perform legal services. That's the way it works and has always worked. I know because my dad represented crooks and bad people and did his best for them. It did not mean that he was bad or a crook--far from it. He was just a good lawyer.
