I'm not the OP, but am wondering about - why GFM ended Wendy's

campaign. I could understand this happening if it was discovered the money donated wasn't being used for its stated purpose. But as best I can recall, Wendy always provided an accounting of how funds were being used; i.e., images shown of receipts for expenses paid, etc. I find it very hard to believe this would be the reason for GFM ending her campaign.

The GFM website also mentions situations that they DO NOT consider fraudulent on their platform:

* Rumors or speculation of fraud.
* Disagreeing with the nature of the fundraiser or the character of the GoFundMe organizer.

So I don't think it could have been someone simply disagreeing with her GFM campaign that would have caused them to shut it all down.

I also don't believe Wendy set out to take advantage of the kindness of strangers for personal gain. In her situation of homelessness and obvious need of maintaining the van for shelter and for work purposes, I see nothing deceptive about her having reached out for help. To me, her situation seemed serious enough.

It would have been a far different story had she never made an effort to work, never provided evidence of pay stubs, receipts for costs, never posted updates, etc. But she did work, she did provide images and updates. If she's guilty of anything, in my opinion, it's having to deal with life's unexpected expenses and the setbacks those cause. It's not like she was kicking back and living rich off of the donations. In fact, I do recall a few times the funds received ending up not being needed after all and Wendy taking the initiative to return them to the donors. So not exactly what someone running a scam would ever do - return funds to the donors!

Well, I just wish her the best with everything and hope that better opportunities will come around for her...
