The drug addict story is rather recent and involves having someone in a luxury condo calling the police on her for setting up a tent on her property, then going into a public restroom to wait out the rain and a man that was doing drugs going into cardiac arrest. She said she was going to pull a knife on him but when he passed out she called 911 and they came and resuscitated him and took him to the hospital. In retelling this it seems incredible and I really don’t know if these stories are stream of consciousness or actually happening. As far as Social Services, I understand that people don’t want to go to the shelters and HUD housing is pretty awful, but it seems that some basic needs aren’t being addressed. Wendy can do as she chooses, although she obviously has some skills and there ought to be some work available that doesn’t involve driving for a living. She probably qualifies for public assistance/SNAP. I don’t live in FL so I really don’t know how they do things, there should be a safety net of some kind, there seems to be a big homeless problem. The auto repair shop she uses did some work for her free of charge recently. I would have been trying to find help long ago, but that’s just me.
