The greatest thing MT did for me was enable me to homeschool my daughter, despite the financial nightmares (including foreclosure, bankruptcy, etc.).
It doesn't "deprive children of a social life," it enables them to gain confidence through interaction with every age group, without "peer pressure" or bullying, and with the constant protection and guidance of their parents (or parent; I was a single mother without child support).
Don't believe what you hear about not getting a diploma or having trouble getting into college: My daughter will finish law school next year near the top of her class with seven years of full scholarship to a private university and little to no student loan debt.
The 20th-century public school model was designed to condition citizens to work in a production-based world. The working world is now computer based and working from home is more feasible and desirable every day.
No wonder work and school are suddenly barrelling in that direction. Just saying. And, again, that homeschooling is actually awesome.
