the particular content of the post didn't interest them and so they decided they wouldn't be participating and felt the need to give a kind of an RSVP response? Who knows.
I figure if someone takes the time to type out a comment or reply to a post, then those are the ones that at least feel they have something worth saying and that's what really makes for a more interesting thread.
