Much appreciated prayer - anon

Thank you for offering up this prayer - Lord knows I needed it.

I was in my kitchen this morning, when I saw a figure run past the window that faces the front yard and street beyond that. It was a young man we've seen in the past wandering around the neighborhood apparently homeless who has been in trouble with the police before for drug possession. He didn't knock on the front door; he just sat down on the porch steps. We asked him what he was doing, because he started to take off his shoes. He said he was changing his shoes and needed some scissors.

We've become aware of many homeless people wandering the neighborhood of late and have had to be very cautious with them even more so now in this pandemic. So we told him we didn't have any scissors available. He went ahead and put on what appeared to be a brand new pair of sneakers and left. I began to wonder what he must have been up to and why he picked our house to come and change his shoes when he could have easily sat down at the curbside to do that. So I just went back to what I was doing. Later, I read your prayer and it reminded me of the young man from this morning...

I started to wonder about him and what troubles in life he must have and the struggles weighing him down. I may never know anything more about him after today, but I know that God knows everything about him. I realize now that I was able to catch a glimpse of this young man's need for hope and a new path of life, something he may not even be aware of or even believe possible. All I know and believe is that with God all things are possible. So I prayed to God for him. Thanks again for your prayer pointing me in the right direction.
