isn't actually socialism. Liberals often misuse the term perhaps to make people more comfortable with real socialism.
Per Merriam Webster socialism is a system where the means of production and distribution are owned collectively or by the government.
There are no privately owned farms, restaurants, etc. I think it’s just become shorthand for any type of collectivism - sacrificing the rights of individuals for the benefit of society as a whole supposedly.
So it might not be totally accurate to label everything socialism, but collectivism is something to be feared.
