Interesting how he thought being an Indian wasn’t that big of a deal - until he got to Washington D.C. Hopefully it doesn’t turn him into a Swamp Creature and identity politics.
My great-great grandmother was Cherokee. The history of the Cherokee is complicated. She told me many fought with the Confederacy and refused to give up their slaves at war's end.
