have expired because there seemed to be a span of time before they arrived to pick him up. The hold went on on July 16 and the jail failed to honor it on August 8, perhaps because it had expired. Prisoners are entitled to a bail hearings by law, and he had his hearing and was granted bail. If ICE had come to get him in a timely manner this would not have happened. We don't really know by this news story what really happened here. It's too bad it went the way it did, but maybe no laws of incarceration were broken and ICE screwed up.
