racist? Ben Carson began his schooling in Detroit, where he was indeed picked on because of racism. However, his mother began taking him to the library and required him to read, read read, and make book reports for her. He went from the dumbest kid in the class to the smarted kid in the class (his own words) in a while. He went on to become a pediatric neurosurgeon. The only thing limiting kids of color is schools with rotten teachers and poor policies. And Ben's mother could not even read!!! Fortunately, Ben did not know that at the time...
