I think that they are so different than what people are used to that people fear them, which engenders dislike of them in a lot of people. Hate is a pretty strong word and a very strong emotion and is something we need less of in this country on both sides. I feel sorry for anyone who gets sucked into the hate mode instead of trying to understand where people are coming from and finding common ground.
