Democratic Party was made up of leftist liberals? Approximately 50% of the Dem Party are left leaning and the rest in the moderate/centrist area. Also, some Dems are hybrids with a few things they are liberal about, a few they are moderate about, and I, for one, am conservative on immigration but still a Dem. You need to do more research before making statements like that.
