Did you read that somewhere in an opinion piece on the internet or hear a Democratic lawmaker actually say something like that? I'm a true Democrat and believe in legal immigration AND assimilation. I do think that immigrants should also honor and preserve their heritage and culture. They can do that and still become assimilated Americans. Do you really think ALL Democrats have the same beliefs. Well, we don't. Please reconsider your point of view and please listen to the ideas, thoughts, and values of larger groups of people before making snap judgments based on one or two things you heard or read on the internet, on TV, in a newspaper, or on the radio. ALL Democrats DO NOT HATE for immigrants to assimilate. That's just a ridiculous notion. That would be like me saying all conservative Republicans are white nationalists when I know they are not. We really need to stop making blanket statements about one another and look for our common values. There is just too much divisiveness in this country now.
