between punishing the wealthy and giving them windfall tax breaks. For example, real estate developers (think Trump and Kushner) can claim depreciation even when the value of their property has gone up and therefore pay no taxes. There was a period of ten years when the Kusher family paid nothing and the same is undoubtedly true of Trump and will be duly noted should we ever see those tax returns.
