This reminds me of what I reviewed in David Schipper's - book "Sold Out" on the Clinton

impeachment. He was Chief Counsel for the 13 House Managers but before that he had been asked by Henry Hyde to conduct an “oversight investigation” of the Justice Department - something that HADN’T BEEN DONE IN OVER 20 YEARS.

Boy - have we been taken to the cleaners! I don’t think that investigation ever saw the light of the day with the corruption in the Clinton/Gore administration and the FBI to make citizens of anyone drawing a breath so they could vote.

He brought in all seasoned investigators/prosecutors to work with him. They worked a tight time table as Starr was preparing his report on Clinton that would be released any day and would have to put their work aside.

Their investigation involved INS, Attorney General Reno, US Attorneys and were refused permission to speak to anyone!!! He was told he wasn’t from Washington and he didn’t know how THEY worked. He informed them they didn’t know how HE worked - that he would get the information one way or another.

I can’t imagine anyone not being appalled at what he uncovered and WHY we didn’t know about it at the time. But it’s certainly a big picture of just what was rotten and continuing to rot in the Justice Department right up to our present day!

Others tried to warn us in books but media never picked it up as I recall. Or we may have just been too focused on Clinton and Lewinsky. I’ll have to keep reading to see if anything ever did COME OF IT...It’s been a long time since I originally read it.

If you like to read, do yourself a favor and check it out - library or used books online.. Schippers left DC different than when he arrived - still a democrat but saw it all first hand and he didn’t like what he saw!
