The 2007 “Great Recession” was 12 years ago. If we are just now recovering, that’s nothing to boast about. It’s great that there are more jobs, but unfortunately $15 an hour barely makes the rent anymore. The disparity between those making 100K a year and those on the opposite end of the scale is what ought to be addressed. They didn’t factor in housing costs, food, utilities and other cost of living items that have inflated. Some people make more money and still only break even because everything else is so expensive. The author of this article has probably never tried to live on a salary of $15 or less per hour.
