I do blame the doctors and hospitals because that is where the blame falls. If you have ever looked at a bill and paid attention to what is charged to the insurance company it is ridiculous and a big reason why insurance rates are so high.
There are a lot of factors in ridiculous cost for medical care in this country. The concierge type places are good but having insurance to cover more significant things is also good.
Hospitals do need to make money for equipment, employee expenses, maintenance, etc., but not to the degree they do. These big hospital systems have also been using the money to take over the little guy docs and facilities. It's another case of corporations shoving the little guy out. It's not just healthcare, it's everywhere. Just think how many mom and pop places were shoved out by Walmart. Now box stores are being shoved out by businesses like Amazon. It's a vicious cycle and always evolving.
