Health Issues

I am lucky enough, if you want to think of it like that, - to have medical assistance, SM

where I pay nothing for the care itself, only medications and small equipment. I will go in if something is bad enough to affect my life and activities. I do have one small condition that occurs about twice a year and I have to go in, but that's about it. Went in recently for something that was seriously affecting my quality of life, got that taken care of, and it's all good now.

I also would refuse treatment for a severe, fatal illness because I'm an MT who is my own sole support and if my health got bad enough to stop working, I'd lose the home I have because I'd have no other income and no one to help care for me. I guess I'd let it go to the point where I couldnt function and then go into hospice. Why drag it out and make myself miserable? I couldnt get medical care that extensive if I were homeless, so it's not that big a deal to me.

That reminds me, I have a new PCP visit coming up and I need to have a DNR/DNI order written as well as End of Life instructions, and whatever else needs written.

*** EDIT: I have state medical assistance because my income is low enough to qualify. I didnt mean to mislead anyone. Low income for assistance, but not enough income for healthcare.gov credits.
