Good for him? There are plenty of ways to protest - sm Posted: Aug 11th, 2019 - 2:17 pm In Reply to: He took a knee---good for him - The WORLD is watching
what you think is wrong without making yourself look like some brave Boy Scout in front of the whole world, while humiliating your homeland. What is the purpose of it? That guy is not doing anything constructive. He looks like someone beating his chest about how "good" he is, while his country and its leadership are bad. He chose to "sacrifice" his moment on the podium? No, a sacrifice would have been to speak up prior to the event. If he had, though, he might not have been allowed to compete since he violated the agreement he signed stating he would not do such a thing. He did not sacrifice a thing.
I have news for you. NO country is perfect. Just because you are unhappy with some things in your own nation is not a good reason to take a stand against it on an international stage. It looks like you're inciting other countries to hate this country. If you're so concerned about the problems, DO something about it. No, not good for him. Shame on him.
By the way, I REJECT this author's parroting assertion that Donald Trump is a racist or a bigot. It just isn't true, and no one who believes it can cite a specific example to prove it. Those who state it as a fact are the bleaters who follow the hateful ideology that whoever does not agree with them deserves to be vilified by having what they've said misrepresented in an effort to wipe them from the collective consciousness. That's a disgusting and LAZY philosophy because it means one refuses to distinguish between what the hated person actually said from what their comrade claims that hated person meant.
