Sjogren's - syndrome

My husband has a whole constellation of autoimmune diseases, including Sjogren's. He already had dentures when he came down with all of this, so just drinks sips of water constantly and no other precautions. But, I was talking with a lady who too has Sjogren's and she says she is losing all of her front teeth because of it. Apparently, saliva is essential for healthy teeth? Who knew? I hear there is a medication one can take for this, so it would behoove you to find out as soon as possible if you could start this medication and save your teeth if indeed this would help. It is too late for this lady, though. My husband also has "watermelon stomach," the layman's term for when his stomach's blood vessels bleed in lines resembling a watermelon's stripes on radiographic reports. He has had this cauterized at least twice in the last decade. The last time, I asked the doctor who did the procedure what caused the bleeding, and he surmised that it was related to the saliva loss in some way. Makes sense. Food starts to digest in the mouth to begin with...
