The rheumatologist said I was in a very early stage of RA and prescribed hydroxychloroquine. I'm thankful for this medication as there are very few side effects reported (nausea, diarrhea). So far, I don't notice any adverse effects. There is an increased risk for developing pigment maculopathy, but I will follow with an ophthalmologist to watch for that. If there is any sign of it, my treatment will obviously change. In addition to the small incidence of side effects, my doctor told me there are also possible benefits, such as an improved lipid profile and greater bone density.

Thanks for sharing your information and experience. I pray that your treatment plan is successful and that there is no progression of your RA.
