There's a possibility I may have MS - Anon Posted: Jul 26th, 2019 - 1:03 pm
I started having suspicious symstoms after a viral upper respiratoyr tract infection in January of this year. My BP spiked after years of having a normal BP. I have numbness and tingling in my hands, feet, upper lip, and perineum, and traveling electrical type pains in various parts of my body. My PCP sent me to a neurologist and I had a thorough workup, EMG, nerve conduction studies and muscle strength testing plus close to 20 different blood tests which ruled out just about every disease/condition known to man and all these things were negative. The only thing left to do would be a brain MRI to look for lesions in the brain to confirm MS, but I was denied this test by Medicare because I am not "sick enough" to warrant it. Has anyone else had a similar experience where you and your doctor know there is definitely something wrong with you and you feel ill most of the time and been unable to have your diagnosis confirmed because of denial of testing by insurance? I feel so frustrated and depressed right now. I have been treating all my ills symptomatically because there is nothing else to be done. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks.
