DO NOT ask a doctor to prescribe antibiotics unless there is proof of a BACTERIAL infection. Even if it's a viral infection (like a cold or flu) antibiotics are not to be used. Antibiotics to not work on viral infections.

Have you not been listening to reports for the past 20 years? Over-use of antibiotics is the primary reason there are antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections. Not all problems are bacterial.

If a doc prescribes antibiotics for any reason other than a bacterium, then they are negligent.
