1. US policy is based on US law. If Congress doesn't like detaining children at the border, they need to change the law. If you don't like the current law, you need to elect different leaders. It's very simple.
2. The law hasn't changed. Obama did the same thing, so did Bush, so did Clinton, etc. Where was the outrage during previous administrations? I'm not talking about your personal outrage, I'm referring to the media and what they choose to report and when.
3. What's the solution? Relaxing the current laws will lead to more illegal immigration. I agree that it's not ideal to keep people in detention centers, but it's better than letting them starve on the streets. Could we solve the problem if everyone who had an issue with the current law opened their home to a questionably documented immigrant family? Why don't you try that and get back to us?
