However, when the next $500 runs out she'll be back with another story asking for more money and turning us into enablers. I can think of quite a few avenues yet to be exhausted and to backtrack it's my understanding that living out of a van until Social Security kicked in at age 62 was her choice because she saw it as an adventure. If she doesn't lose the van, car dealerships and car rental agencies hire shuttle drivers and probably pay hourly, the dealers also hire lot attendants. It might be minimum wage but might provide a few groceries and a place to crash. Heck, get a job detailing cars or delivering auto parts or pizza. Find a church, talk to a pastor and ask for help, maybe they need clerical staff. I'm not trying to be cruel, but there must be other options than having to beg for money. Try to find someone with a room to rent or someone to share expenses. For every problem there is a solution.
