Not a scam - Thoughts

This is not a scam, I replied to her original post here a few months ago and the Go Fund Me Page is for real. I can't judge because so many people find themselves destitute these days through no fault of their own, but in 30 years as an MT, there should have been opportunities to set up a retirement account or 401K through an employer. I suggested contacting social services in her area for help with housing and getting on the food stamp program. I'm sorry, but dog food and veterinary care probably need to be taken off the table. I'm not cruel, just practical. There are shelters to go to and there are women's resource centers that help people find jobs and get back on their feet. In the original post she spoke about purchasing a van and obtaining a loan and planning to live out of this van, but I'm not sure how she got credit without a job. Living in a car is very dangerous and it's difficult to go on job interviews and get hired without a physiMcal address. It sounds as if it has been years of making bad choices and poor planning. I hope this isn't a scam and would like to see her get the help she needs. I'm self supporting and live on my own and I'm approaching retirement so have my own issues; unfortunately I can't afford to make a donation.
