following tale. He hated John Dean so much until the trial and the tidbit about the book and his fiance being a high dollar hooker slipped out. Liddy realized it wasn't about politics and he gave up his hate of Dean. Nixon covered for his team, but had nothing to do with the planning. He was duped, and if you think about it, the break in was about sex and embarrassment about your fiancee.

But the public still thinks otherwise.
