driving, showing a can of gasoline and a lighter. He tried to take all their phones, but one of the students kept the phone and called the police who arrived quickly and stopped the bus near the junction with Peschiera Borromeo, Milan.

It appears the driver did try to kill everyone inside, tied them up, spread gasoline inside and lit it on fire. Then he restarted rather bus and drove off while the bus was beginning to burn.
