Has anyone ever experienced hip problems? - Gimpy

I have had extreme right hip pain for the last 3 months or so. I have had x-rays, a steroid injection which did not work at all, and an MRI, the results of which I won't find out until this Thursday.

Has anyone else here had problems with their hip and if so what turned out to be the problem? My ortho doc has ruled out bursitis and he thinks it is possibly a labral tear. Of course I have googled everything possible and my thoughts are a labral tear also or maybe even an impingement.

Basically the process to find out what is going on has been a long one and I am anxious to get the results. I used to be a jogger and have not been able to run or exercise due to the extreme pain. I am in my 50's BTW.

Thanks for any input you may have. I am interested in hearing others who have experienced similar hip problems.
