classic conservatism has strayed just as far right as some of this liberalism has strayed left. I personally feel both have strayed to far in opposite directions. I am pro-capitalism, pro-America and a democrat. That doesn't mean I don't agree with many of the things (not all) that these democratic socialists are bringing to the table, i.e, green energy, getting rid of corporate welfare (not to the extremes some are talking). I also believe we should have affordable healthcare for all, whether it be universal healthcare or tweaking of the ACA.
The divide in this country has been going on for quite some time and many of us, both classic democrats and classic republicans, are sick to see what extremism is doing to the country. We are picking presidents not because of what they will do for us but because we feel they are the lesser of two evils. That really is sad.
