Don't believe everything you read or hear. Boots on the ground tell the tale. I don't know the numbers off hand. All I know is that California has more ILLEGAL ALIENS than any other state.

As far as you never living in California because of the cost of living, that's on you. When we moved there 40 years ago, it was a great place to live and we made a ton of money off selling our property. I'm glad we lived there. It has enabled us to buy a house for cash in another state and has also allowed us to retire early.
