Last night I found out that I am affected by this. The mother of one of my piano students told me that her husband was one of those workers without pay. We live in a southern state and he works for the Border Patrol. Since paying in advance for the month's lessons is a requirement, January's lessons are all paid, but after that she said they will have to put lessons on hold as they will not be able to pay for any more lessons until daddy gets a paycheck. She said everybody around them is very supportive; for example, the school is giving free lunches to those affected, etc. But, still, I can foresee a "trickle-down effect" in the future if this continues. I am not a bit worried for myself personally because I have been blessed with several new students this week. God is good. But, still, I am getting anxious about this situation. It can't be good for the country.
