Only in Trump's mind is there a crisis since there are fewer immigrants coming across the border than in past years. Yes, there is a humanitarian crisis largely of Trump's making.
No one wants open borders. Non-Trumpers want a plan that includes increased border agents, drone surveillance and better court procedures to process those who come across. Not all border patrol agents want a 2,000 mile wall; it is not even feasible in places due to the terrain. There are barriers along the border now. If those need repair or replacement - say so. A solid wall would do terrible damage to wildlife and livestock, hurt commerce between border cities and be just plain ugly and ineffective. Even those who want them say that they don't stop immigrants, they just slow them down. Donald Trump never studies an issue or approaches anything from an analytical point of view; he just shouts and tweets to put fear into his followers.
