Someone in my family worked for the fed gov for about - 5 years. All 5 of those years Posted: Jan 9th, 2019 - 7:10 am In Reply to: This whole lack of funding border security is a power - struggle. There are many pro-amnesty
she was supervising about 20 people during the 2013 shutdown. The average salary was $60,000 to $70,000, and if one was married to another fed gov employee that's another $60,000 to $70,000 a year.
One employee she said went into a hysterical meltdown at the start of the shutdown because, on a joint income of $120,000 to $140,000, she and her husband were living paycheck to paycheck. It's amazing that almost none of the well-compensated staff could survive the loss of one paycheck.
This is what we are up against. Well-compensated, spendthrift federal employees living beyond their means.
The mainstream media hates Trump so will publish all the most tragic-sounding tales of whiny federal employees. I think this shutdown, like the 2013 shutdown, is simply exposing how many federal employees manage their money poorly, live beyond their means and save nothing. And how many there actually are, paid for courtesy of the American taxpayers.
