This is always a temptation, and the Left is always looking for an excuse to indulge.

That is what John Maynard Keynes provided, and that is what the Chinese communists and the Turks have done in recent years. It's anti-capitalism BS.

Like steroid abuse, it works great in the short term, but too much for too long causes powerful nasty side effects, that can be fatal.

Bottom line is, it’s probably great for 10 years or so. Then, when the theory is disproven, those who run the government have a population of dependent slaves they can dispatch at will, with no one to stop them.
