Trump is not right. He wants logging opened - up.

There is a combination of factors involved. The trees are not bursting into flames, it is the brush and then the trees and houses. The state is more times than not in drought state which causes dry brush and dying trees due to lack of water. Yes, dead trees easily catch fire. But with logging, do you think they just cut dead trees down? No, they clear all sellable trees and leave the scrap behind to dry out and be more of a fire danger.

In my state, people are allowed to go in state land and cut dead trees down, tagged by the state, and use that for private use, but anywhere there is logging, it is left with all the scrap and then brush starts growing and the scrap dries out. We aren't in drought so a tiny spark doesn't set that off but California is different.

I've heard him mention he wants to see more and more logging open up and that was out of his mouth. I wouldn't want that either because I see how much it has destroyed some really beautiful areas in my state.

I don't know anybody who blamed Trump as some are suggesting. What they were angry about was him suggesting they shouldn't get aid for the fires. He backed off on that due to harsh criticism.

I bet there are lots of states with unkempt woods but they don't have the drought California has and that has greatly contributed to the fires.
