Does everyone realize that a UNIVERSAL Basic Income is a bad policy because it is UNIVERSAL?
The "stop punching down about the UBI!!! What about the disabled???" shut down, identity politics nonsense is disgusting, uninformed and lazy.
Social Security is there TODAY and already serves the disabled. With little effort we could EXPAND Social Security to serve as a NON-UNIVERSAL Basic Income (buzzwords...) that cover other conditions we want to protect in society.
But it is not UNIVERSAL. It is specific.
Please read the following links to get a better understanding, because there is nothing less noble or decent than intellectually lazy, shut down, identity politics based, impossibly inept rebuttal to someone who has actually done the homework.
We need a Federal Job Guarantee and Expanded Social Security. It is not only the right programs for our nation, it is the right combination of programs macro-economically.

RING FAMILIAR? Are you 50+ trying to figure out what happened to your MT job. You don't feel capable of learning a new profession? maybe some physical barriers, but not declared as such thus no SSI, etc? and social security is no where in sight.
