Interesting critique - Probably close

The criticism of not supporting himself was telling. Frequently, those effective at educating do self-less acts for little pay...artists, composers, musicians, for instance...particularly in their lifetimes.

Oh, and I guess being a "leftist" should have been bad...it's not, particularly when compared to those in leadership on the right. Slavery, working conditions, living conditions were awful. He spoke to that.

The left, now, speaks to that regarding living conditions (homelessness), education (equal availability) combined with jobs, healthcare. The conversation has evolved, unfortinately the Right does not want to, because it still cuts into their profit margin and fake superiority.
